Join Porridge Papers along with lettering artist and calligrapher Cheryl Dyer for this two-part workshop in creating and printing your own set of monogramed stationery. After an overview of the materials and basics of pointed-pen calligraphy we’ll dive into learning uppercase letters. Students will then learn about how to intertwine these letters to form beautiful monograms and leave class with a finished monogram that will be scanned, vectorized and turned into a plate for letterpress.
In the second session of the workshop, students will learn the basics of letterpress on either the Vandercook or Pilot printing presses to add another dimension to their calligraphy. All calligraphy materials are included in the class and will be yours to take home and practice with. You will also go home with your own boxed set of 25 folded stationery cards printed and designed by you!
