Letterpress Printing

Letterpress is the process of relief printing which pushes the image into the paper creating a relief. With handmade paper stock we are able to get quite the "punch" or if you prefer we can kiss the surface as well. With letterpress you will want to consider the number of colors (more colors = more cost), will there be heavy solids (not recommended) or are you considering white ink (stay away from this option) to name a few.

Capabilities

From a single piece to large runs, we can handle the smallest of sheets or the largest (as long as it is not larger than 13"x19"), in addition to straight & deckled edge. After it's done send it on over to our bindery to be scored, perfed, embossed or debossed or mailed.

More information regarding file setup can be found on our FAQ page.

    Consideration

    • reduce art on deckled sheets by .25" to adjust for irregularities
    • we recommend a more organic design with deckled sheets
    • white ink does not show up like foil or silkscreen (both of which we do not offer)
    • heavy solids are not recommended, especially with handmade paper, as it picks at the paper and you may not see the results you are looking for
