We apologize ahead of time as we are in the midst of some redesign.

Bye Bye Valentine

January 11, 2017

Porridge Papers has had the honor of being a part of so many people’s Valentine’s Day here in Lincoln over the last 9 years. I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing the experience has been. Through this time I have been comforted and thankful for the outpouring of support we have received! What started out as a small little event with one volunteer the first year has turned into one of Lincoln’s largest Valentine’s Day events with hundreds of volunteers, dozens of sponsors and countless hours of dedication to hand deliver approximately 3500 valentines.

2017 would be the 10th year for Love on the Run. I have, however, decided to sit this one out. It was with much thought and deliberation that I made the decision to take a year off both for myself and for Porridge Papers. As a business, we are in the middle of a major renovation and in the process of creating a new retail model for the store. I know all of you will be excited to see the new changes we are making, and I know all of you understand that when I make changes, I really make changes!

But all is not lost! We have every intention to host Love On The Run in 2018 in our newly designed space. In this time, we also need to refurbish our worn line of old typewriters and gear up for some new looks for Love on the Run so that the tenth year will be sure to be the best one ever!

We appreciate your understanding and hope you will come back more excited and eager than ever to participate, volunteer and in any way be a part of Love on the Run.  I can’t even begin to tell you how excited my wife is to have me all to herself this year (my wife and kids have had to share me with the entire city for so long)! So, on that note, I will hang up my pink bowtie for a year, thank you all and I wish you a very happy Valentine’s Day!

- Christopher

I am excited for you and your business! And I can’t wait to see what your store “has in store.”

It is understandable why the Valentine tradition has been been cancelled for this year. I do hope it will return in 2018.
